A tavern located on the foothill of Mt. Chortiatis, in the village of the same name, right on top of its main road.
Very nice atmosphere for a village tavern, which choices for sitting both inside and outside of the restaurant.
The menu offers a plethora of local specialties as well as rare cuts of meat very rarely found in similar establishments, like wild boar, ostrich, duck etc. Both the main and the side dishes were delicious, with the meats being the main star of the show, which were nicely grilled. All veggies were fresh and -wherever applicable- hand-cut.
Portions were very generous and prices were really good, especially considering the rarity of some dishes.
Service was a bit slow, but that's expected during peak hours. The staff were very welcoming, kind and helpful, to the best of their abilities with regards to how full the establishment was.
Be mindful that the tavern gets full quickly, so either reserve a table beforehand or you'll most likely have to wait a bit until a table is free. There is a parking lot right next to the tavern, but it can get crowded quickly. You can always park down the road tho.

This is hands down the best Tavern I have been anywhere in the world.
I was pinching my self at the end of the meal to make sure this wasn't a dream. Every single dish we tried was cooked to perfection prepared with love and care.
We were 9 of us we tasted each other's food and we were in awe.
Make sure you get to this place if you are visiting Greece.
Get as many dishes as possible from the "Hunting traditional Special Dishes" And don't forget appetisers and dips They are all to die for.
Book on a weekend as all the dishes on the menu are available then.

Our recent meal was frankly awful and largely inedible. The lamb chops were dry, tough, and clearly old, having been reheated. The kokoretsi was in a similar state—stale and nuked in the microwave, ruining its texture and taste.
We left half of our food untouched, and I actually departed feeling nauseous. The only saving graces were the polite staff and two appetizers: the cheese with honey and the eggplant salad were acceptable.
It's a shame, but I can no longer recommend this place. There seems to be a clear disparity in quality between what regular customers receive and what others get. We won't...
